Jean's grandfather Albert Wood fought in WW1. He was an engineer, who came from a line of woollen cloth workers.

Jean's grandmother was Fanny Benn (White)

Fanny's maternal line were fell mongers and butchers in Malton Yorkshire.

The 'White' line were imigrants from Ireland in the mid 1800s.
